Laminar Stress
The quality of annealing of float glass drastically affects its cutability. If the glass is not properly annealed, excessive surface compression will interfere with scoring and snapping processes. Glass strips are cut and viewed from the side to image the laminar stress distribution. Also, the GFP system will provide a Striae map, documenting any defects or quality of glass during transitions on the float line.
